 Sorry for being so inactive the past month, life caught up with me and I just didnt have time or was I in the mental state to do anything other than daily life stuff, that being said I'm back now and hopefully can be more active so look out for more Spinel shinanigans!!

Personality:. Spinel is a quirky, goofy character whose sole purpose of creation is to make others happy. She will do what she can to cheer those who she loves up and bring light to any situation. With her rubber hose style limbs she can stretch said limbs out into wild and wacky shapes to do about anything including distorting the shape of her body to express her emotions more vividly. Spinel loves to play around, to entertain and take on almost a clown like role just to fill her purpose. Because of this, others can sometimes see her constant movement, impulsive nature and jokes as annoying, although she never intends to be as that is against her role as an entertainer. Spinel will even go to extreme lengths to act foolish just for a laugh, dancing around or doing something that might put her in harm's way just to make the person she cares about smile.

Her cheerful demeanor can be seen as something she was made to be, something created to cheer up and put a smile on the faces of others. Focusing specifically on close friends. Not that her cheerfulness doesn’t extend into everything else about her. A good example of how she is so cheerful is when she first appears in the movie as her original regenerated self. She can be seen giggling and bouncing around goofily, even when Steven shouts and asks what she had done to him and his family, she boops his nose then goes on to shake him around playfully.

Spinel can be rather childish in nature. From emotional escalations to needing to be the centre of attention. Spinel will do what she can to take away from a bad situation and attempt to turn it into a good one, though sometimes she fails to do so which leads to many people getting mad or aggravated at her and her actions. An example of this would be during the movie she played around with a dangerous tool out of curiosity and completely destroyed an area of the little home world and put many gems in danger after losing control of the tool, despite never having that intention in the first place.

Spinel is also rather empathetic which leads her to being very emotional, whether it be from her own feelings, or feeling bad for others. Her emotions drive her and lead her to be a very loving gem, she happily expresses her emotions vocally and physically. She will happily wrap her arms around and around her friends to give them a big hug or even a smooch on the cheek playfully! Although her empathy can get the best of her sometimes and lead her to overlook others problems. During the events of the movie, Steven would be stressing out over how to fix his family and save the planet from dying but Spinel underplays the very severe situation for the sake of being optimistic and to attempt to cheer Steven up. Eventually this only leads to more frustration and causes him to get mad at Spinel despite her only wanting to cheer him up.

Looking into Spinel's past, her actions and reactions that she displays can be of sorts explained due to the trauma she went through with her original best friend, Pink Diamond. After being created for Pink as a playmate, Spinel would spend all of her time entertaining and playing around with the small Diamond but over time, Pink grew tired and annoyed of Spinel, she wanted to focus on her own goals and not play silly games in the garden any longer. So she asked Spinel to play a game, where she would stand in the garden and wait for her Diamond's return. Except she never did return. Pink had completely abandoned Spinel and despite over 6000 years going by, Spinel waited. She wondered constantly if she was doing what she was told right, when Pink would return but instead she received news her best friend had abandoned her, no longer existed and in her place stood her son, Steven. Spinel was so hurt and traumatised from this that she ‘broke’ she became hellbent on revenge, even if it meant killing Pink's son to feel some kind of satisfaction.


Throughout her screen time, it's clear that the abandonment from Pink left Spinel feeling the need of constant reassurance that she won’t be left alone or replaced. Her emotions are intense which often lead to irrational thoughts of self worth and other insecurities. She is very clingy to anyone who she dubs as her best friend out of fear that they’ll leave her like Pink did so many years ago, this can be seen when interacting with Steven. She depends on her best friend heavily, needing and wanting her around and often feeling replaced when someone else comes into the picture. Because of this she will act irrationally sometimes acting before she thinks. An example of this would be when Steven was having a serious conversation with her, he asked what helped her stop having vengeful thoughts and she broke out into song which only frustrated Steven, despite her hoping for an opposite effect.
